Bringing Back the Good Ol’ Days

The Times Theater Inc is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revival and reopening of the Times Theater in Rochester, Indiana. For more than five years, we have been working to transform the theater to its historic roots with all the modern conveniences needed to create a diverse, engaging artistic experience for everyone.

Cause

Fund-raising and grant searches are currently underway to pay for the extensive renovation and restoration of the 92-year-old theater, which opened in 1924 with live entertainment and silent films. The Times Theater was a two-screen, first-run movie theater when it closed in 2014.

The future of the building is seen as a center for the arts, including film, live musical entertainment, dramas, lectures, and other presentations. The aim is to fill the theater’s calendar with daytime and evening events designed to provide a diverse and creative mix of arts for the community. The theater building also has space that may become studio and exhibit space for local artists.
